About Us – tweetmyride Team
Gavin Romanis
Gavin's work takes him all over the globe. He works in broadcast media facilitation on large sporting events around the world. After moving to Vancouver for the Winter Olympics and seeing the thriving outdoor community here, he was inspired to take part in his own adventures. Whilst planning his holidays, Gavin stumbled upon La Ruta de los Conquistadores. Armed with the perfect combination of travel and a great outdoor challenge, Gavin was seduced into signing up for the ride of his life. A grueling four-day event, La Ruta de los Conquistadores is held annually in Costa Rica. With no prior experience in mountain bike racing – his last post saw him in Beijing where the extent of his exercise included pedaling a electric scooter home upon discovering a flattened battery – Gavin is looking forward to an exciting lead up to the race. Gavin always forgets to fill up the ice trays and never rinses his plates.
Leoni Milano
Currently based in Vancouver, Canada, Leoni's work doesn't automatically take her all over the globe. Rather, she packs up, jumps on a plane, lands in a new country, and works on making contacts fast in a bid to find some type of suitable employment. Visa issues (at times) aside, she has for the most part landed on her feet (just like her cat, Toushka does), and can usually find something fun and challenging to become involved with. This time the stakes were raised. After Gavin found such a thrilling race to take part in, Leoni thought she'd throw in the extra challenge of raising $1 million for charity. Game on. There are exciting plans for tweetmyride2.0 for next year in India already in the works. Leoni has no idea how to wash clothes and has questionable skills when it comes to mountain bike stunts.
